Emerald Coast Top Snorkeling Spots and Tips
Snorkel Spots
Norriego Point
Norriego Point is one of the best snorkeling spots in Destin. This peninsula separates the East Pass from Destin Harbor and features a jetty on the east side that is home to calm waters. You don’t have to be an experienced snorkeler to venture through these waters by yourself. The clear waters are home to tons of fish.
Henderson Beach State Park
If you want to snorkel while spending a day on the sand, head to Henderson Beach State Park. While there aren’t extensive reefs here, this is a nesting ground for loggerhead turtles, so there’s a good chance you will spot one of these beautiful marine creatures swimming through the clear Gulf waters.
Destin Jetties and East Pass
If you have snorkeling experience, the Destin Jetties and East Pass provide fantastic snorkeling on the Emerald Coast. The rocky jetties serve as man-made reefs where you will find snapper, redfish, octopus, hermit crabs, and more. The best time to snorkel here is during high tide when the current is stronger with the outgoing tide.

Flipper’s Adventure is another fantastic snorkeling adventure company in Destin. Their two-stop trip includes two and a half hours of exploring in addition to dolphin watching! They also offer dolphin cruises and parasailing.
Cattywampus
Cattywampus offers a selection of cruises near Destin on a fun catamaran boat. They have daytime and sunset excursions that are all two and a half to three hours and include fun snorkeling stops and dolphin watching.
