The Best Route From Houston, TX, to 30A, FL

The trip from Houston, TX, to 30A, FL, by car is about 10 hours. Get ready to traverse the great states of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama before you get to Florida. Thankfully, it’s a simple trip.

Just get on I-10E in Houston and follow the road as it turns into I-12 E (and then back into I-10 E) until you reach Defuniak Springs, Florida. Here you make a right onto US-331 S and then make a left onto US-98E. At this point, you will have made it to Point Washington State Forest and are a stone’s throw from “Florida 30A.” Follow US-98 E until you see signs for US-30 as you reach Rosemary Beach.

If you’ve never heard of the 30A, it is a stretch of the Florida Gulf coastline connected by the scenic 30A highway. The string of coastal towns has plenty of small gems waiting to be encountered, including communities such as Rosemary Beach, Santa Rosa Beach, and Sandestin.
