We’ve all been there, you plan your trip to the beautiful sunny beaches of the Emerald Coast and…it’s not so sunny. The good news is rain doesn’t tend to last long here. While you wait there are so many great rainy day activities in the Destin and 30A area.
Destin Commons is packed with tons of rainy day fun. You can spend the whole day enjoying some of the best shopping and dining in Destin. The salted caramel ice cream at Kilwins is a personal favorite. One of the newest additions is Uncle Buck’s Fishbowl, featuring an under the sea themed bowling alley and bar; or head on over to the AMC Theater and snuggle up for a rainy day movie.
Head on down to Harborwalk Village for dining and shopping along the Destin Harbor. You can always catch live music with some of the best views in Destin, along with boutique shopping and delicious food.
Wild Willy’s Adventure Zone Dino Island
Brand new to the area is Wild Willy’s in Fort Walton Beach, featuring a state of the art arcade, 4D Movie Theater, laser maze, and Salvati’s Pizza Factory. When the rain stops you can also enjoy a ropes course, mini golf, roller coaster and a reverse bungee trampoline. The kids will love this place!
Thrills Laser Tag and Arcade at Seascape
This brand new arcade features a 3500 square foot 2 level laser tag arena and the most advanced games on the market. It’s sure to provide entertainment for kids and adults of all ages.
Rainforest Black Light Golf and Arcade
Throw on some neon attire and head to the Rainforest Black Light Golf and Arcade for some glow in the dark fun.
Escapology – The Live Escape Game
Put on your thinking cap and head to Escapology, with a variety of themed rooms that are sure to entertain while testing your problem-solving skills.
The Village of Baytowne Wharf
Between concerts, festivals, and special events there is always something going on at the Village of Baytowne Wharf. With amazing restaurants, shopping and an arcade and laser tag arena for the kids, there is something for everyone.
Emerald Coast Food Tours
Let’s be honest half of vacation is about the food. If you feel the same, Emerald Coast Food tours will be right up your alley. With tours around 30A and Miramar Beach in Destin you will leave stuffed and sure to have some new local favorites.
Scenic Highway 30a
If you are looking for a more relaxing day, Scenic 30A is for you. Located just to the east of Destin, you can spend hours dining and shopping at local vendors. Goat Feathers has been a local favorite for the last 30 years; it’s unique and just plain delicious. Shunk Gulley is my personal favorite, with gorgeous views even in the rain.
These are just a few of many great options! If you would like a recommendation personalized for your group, give our office a call, we will always be glad to help you plan the perfect rainy day until you can get back out on those beautiful beaches.
